Are there any opportunities for young people to volunteer?
1 minute

Yes! Getting involved as a young tennis volunteer can bring great rewards – it develops employability, can support your playing, and lead to a long-term career in sport. Generally speaking, you can volunteer at any age although there may be restrictions on particular roles – just check with the venue or event what roles are available.

From the age of 16, young people can undertake the Level 1 coaching course, and/or an umpire course.

In addition to volunteering opportunities at tennis venues, there is a chance to become a Student Tennis Ambassador in further education colleges. Certain universities also offer positions as a Student Tennis Ambassador and paid positions as a University Tennis Co-ordinator, so it’s worth asking at your University Students’ Tennis Club.

Our Tennis Leaders course is also a great introduction to coaching and volunteering from 13+.
