Who should be completing a risk assessment for holiday camps?
1 minute

When conducting a safeguarding risk assessment, there may be one or two people to lead on this. It would be advisable for the person organising the camp to undertake the risk assessment in conjunction with the Welfare Officer.

The risk assessment can involve others from within the venue to support where others’ experience, knowledge or expertise is relevant.  For example, it might be prudent to involve the Head Coach in the risk assessment if they (or their team) are involved in on-court activity.

A template risk assessment can be found here: https://www.lta.org.uk/4abbe6/siteassets/about-lta/file/template-risk-assessment.docx but will need adapting for the venue and activity.

Venues who allow a third-party operator to run a camp at their premises/courts should work with the third party to ensure a risk assessment is completed and that they are satisfied that the camp will run safely.
