I am a non-binary individual – can I compete in Non-Specified Competitions?
2 minutes

Where a Non-Specified Competition is organised by the LTA, non-binary individuals, whether assigned male or female at birth, are eligible to compete in either the men’s or women’s category.

Where the organiser of the Non-Specified Competition is not the LTA, it will be for the organiser to determine the eligibility rules for that competition.  Organisers should start from the presumption that this level of competition is inclusive for non-binary individuals in the women’s or the men’s categories but can choose to put in place restrictions in relation to the women’s category for those assigned male at birth or where an individual has commenced masculinising gender-affirming hormone treatment where they believe that to be appropriate to protect the fairness of that competition.
