Comptons Tennis Club facilities investment
Tennis venues offer more than just a place to practice, they are a community, a place to catch up with friends, and get on court. The LTA’s Quick Access Loan scheme, funded by the LTA Tennis Foundation provides which help deliver projects that will grow the number of people playing tennis and padel, ensuring long term sustainability for the venue and its members.
The loan scheme supports the LTA’s and the LTA Tennis Foundation’s vision of ‘tennis opened up’ by ensuring every approved application includes a community element to their proposal, enabling more people to access tennis.
Comptons Tennis Club in Horsham strives to create a tennis club for all members of the community that creates a healthier future for generations to come. As part of the Quick Access Loan scheme, the club were able to install two sets of floodlights to increase their players' time on court.
The Impact
- Increase in court utilisation and participation because of the floodlighting
- The introduction of Clubspark which enables online booking for non-members.
- The floodlighting of the additional courts has increased available court hours for coaching, which were limited in winter.
- Coaching has been made available on a pay per session basis.
- The club has seen a strong increase in membership.
The installation of the extra floodlights on our courts has allowed us to maintain a bigger programme through the winter months, and alongside other continued improvements at the club it has helped increase our membership numbers. With a recent resurfacing of the courts under the new lights we are looking forward to having seven courts available all year round for play. We would like to say a massive thank you to the LTA and the LTA Tennis Foundation for their support in helping us continue to grow and thrive as a tennis club.
