The GM will report to the Chairman and the HPLTC Committee, supervising a staff of five permanent and a varying number of seasonal staff, as well as two self-employed coaches. The GM will have responsibility for the smooth running of all aspects of the Club.

Duties include day-to-day financial administration including accounts, contracts and cost control, as well as the preparation and presentation of regular detailed financial reports for the Committee. The GM will oversee management of the bar and catering operation, our programme of social events, club tournaments and team matches. The GM will maintain the club’s database of members and the website. The GM will be responsible for the upkeep of the clubhouse, courts, grounds and premises including ensuring that Health and Safety requirements and employment procedures are observed.

The GM will work 40 hours a week, though the hours will not be fixed as the job requires attendance on certain evenings, at club events and some weekends, especially May to September.

Tasks will include:
Inventory management, including tracking and ordering supplies.
Financial management including budgeting, revenue and cost control
Operational efficiency including negotiating with suppliers and cutting waste
Compliance including health, safety and legal compliance
Staff management

Holland Park Lawn Tennis Club, a 900-member private West London tennis club, is seeking a full time, permanent General Manager to start as soon as possible. The club has five all-weather and three grass courts, an elegant and recently refurbished clubhouse, and is located in a secluded, quiet and attractive two acres of grounds and gardens close to Holland Park Avenue.

Candidate specification:The successful applicant will ideally have tennis management experience, however, applicants with other sports management and/or hospitality backgrounds and experience will also be considered.
The candidate must be proficient with operating technology and databases
Knowledge of Health and Safety and Employment regulation
Proficient communication skills - written and verbal.
Crucially, the successful applicant must have a positive and calm attitude in order to create a friendly and harmonious environment both for staff and our diverse and international membership.
