Trustee

The charity is governed by a Committee of Trustees some of whom also act as the
members of the Operations group.
Wiltshire Tennis operates in accordance with the corporate governance requirements of the Charities Commission, the UK Governance Code for Sport and the LTA.
Trustees are responsible to always ensure that Wiltshire Tennis acts in accordance with its objectives and the highest standards of governance. They are also responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation and its annual
expenditure budget and for ensuring that the activities are consistent with the requirements of this. Trustees must always act with integrity, ensuring that all decisions are made solely for the benefit of the organisation.
Wiltshire Tennis needs Trustees with a broad range of skills, experience and connections to strategic networks to help achieve our objects and to ensure the effective operation of the organisation.
We currently wish to recruit Trustees who can ideally demonstrate experience in one
or more of the following areas:
• Charity operations and fundraising
• Community involvement
• Diversity and inclusion
• Governance
• Legal
• Safeguarding
For further information of the position and details of governance framework please see our website - https://wiltshiretennis.org.uk/
They will ideally have good networking and partnership working experience within Wiltshire and be prepared to use these networks to support the delivery of the strategic plan.
Applications would be welcomed from individuals whose experience or circumstances would broaden the diversity of the Committee of Trustees.
The Committee of Trustees meets virtually or in person around 6 times per year. In addition to their role as Trustees, individuals will be encouraged to use their skills in support of Wiltshire Tennis activities.
We are a local charitable organisation run by volunteers, and we are also a member of tennis’s national governing body, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
