About the role
We require an enthusiastic and experienced tennis coach to work as part of our energetic team, to deliver varied adult and child group coaching sessions across our programme at parks in the London Borough of Bexley. This will include leading Cardio Tennis, Tennis Xpress, Adult Group and LTA Youth sessions, so experience in these programmes is beneficial but not essential. There will also be the option to deliver individual lessons if the candidate is “Coach” qualified.

This role will play a critical part in delivering TwistFizz C.I.C.’s ambitions to make tennis more accessible to wider range of players, helping to keep more people more active more often.

Key Responsibilities
•Delivery of a minimum 25 hours per week of on court group sessions: Under the guidance of our Director of Tennis, complete coaching sessions including LTA Youth Start, Tennis Xpress, Adult coaching, Cardio Tennis and Walking Tennis. You will also be required to deliver sessions that are part of our outreach programme, at schools and local community groups.
•On court administration: take accurate registers and promote further opportunities to play to all participants on our coaching courses and competitions.
•Provide Private Coaching: There is the opportunity to provide private individual coaching sessions on a self-employed basis.
•To assist the Director of Tennis deliver/administer the coaching programme as required.

TwistFizz C.I.C. has the contract to operate 7 parks tennis venues across the London Borough of Bexley. This dynamic role will be primarily delivering coaching/activity sessions at two key park sites – Danson Park and Russell Park. We manage the provision of court booking and season passes across all 7 Bexley sites, and a further two floodlit venues in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. All parks are in great condition - they have recently been renovated as part of the LTA Park Investment Project, and Danson Park benefits from toilets and a café on site. There is free parking at most parks, and all are well serviced by public transport.

Our coaching philosophy is: making sure all players get enjoyment out of our sessions, learning simple and relevant technical skills, and taking part in appropriate competition. We are building also committed to building relationships with local partners, to attract new players to our programme.

The ideal candidate would be an energetic and enthusiastic professional who wants to learn and develop as part of a great team of coaches, led by a market leading operator. They will take pride in their work, consistently displaying passion for introducing to, and retaining players in tennis. Experience of delivering group tennis sessions to a wide and varying range of players - Essential
A formal Coaching Qualification, ideally LTA Instructor (Level 2) or above - Essential
Currently LTA Accredited (Ideally Accredited+) - Essential
A recent Criminal Records Check (within last three years) - Essential
Recent First Aid training (within last three years)- Essential
Experience of delivering tennis coaching in parks- Desirable
A quality track record of CPD with the LTA’s core menu - Desirable
