Elmbridge Borough Council is inviting applications from Level 3 or above tennis coaches to run their tennis coaching business on any of the following Park Tennis sites:
- Cobham recreation ground (2 court site)
- Molesey Hurst recreation ground (3 court site)


This is a great opportunity for a coach to start their business or to expand their current offering out into the community. The Council offer four types of coaching packages in order for the successful the applicant/s to scale up their business as required.

Coaching Packages:
- 10+1 hours = £875 per year, per site
- 18+1 hours = £1000 per year, per site
- 24+1 hours = £1250 per year, per site
- 30+1 hours = £1500 per year, per site


Successful coaching providers must provide a 1 hour free community session per week during term time throughout their agreement. For example an 10+1 agreement is 10 hours to run your business per week plus 1 hour free for the community session per week.

The free community session is an opportunity for people to get involved who might not be able to afford coaching or might be nervous about initially spending money to take part. It is also an opportunity for you to meet new players and sell your programme offering, so they can upskill their tennis.


Tennis court usage:
The successful coaching provider will be entitled to the maximum number of court hours per week as outlined in their agreement with the Council.

Additional benefits include:
- Advanced court bookings with repeat bookings made by the Council Sports and Health team.
- Endorsement from the Council’s Sports and Health team that the supplier is the Council’s preferred and only tennis coaching provider at that specific site.
- Promotional support as necessary and agreed from the Council to support the providers own marketing and promotion.
- Meetings with the Council’s Sports and Health team and the LTA

There are 12 Parks Tennis venues in Elmbridge which are located in the heart of local communities to provide the perfect environment to play with friends & family or take part in coaching with our authorised coaching providers.

Elmbridge Borough Council own and manage all 12 outdoor Park Tennis sites which equates to 31 individual courts. We have recently completed a 3 year court improvements programme to 10 of the sites, which included Cobham and Molesey Hurst.

The Council is flexible with regards to whether the successful coaching provider is a sole person or a team of coaches. In all cases the Head Coach will be expected to hold a minimum LTA Level 3 qualification and all members of the team to be LTA Accredited.

The successful provider/s:
- Will be led by an LTA Level 3 or above accredited tennis coach
- Will have all members of the coaching team LTA Accredited
- Will keep an open line of communication with the Council
- Will be enthusiastic, inclusive, dedicated, positive, open minded, flexible and organised.
- Will have experience in providing community-focused tennis activities and understand how to address barriers to participation.
