Northampton LTC - Head Coach


A unique opportunity for a coach to join a growing and diverse team of coaches in Northamptonshire.
The successful candidate will be managing and leading the coaching programme for one of our leading venues, Northampton Lawn Tennis Club.
We are looking for a dedicated tennis coach, who is passionate and energetic with working with a wide range of players and coaching scenarios.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following jobs:
Coaching Programme
Northampton LTC
Personal
-Attend weekly coach meetings/training.
-Develop and model the NTC coaching ethos.
-Manage your own time, and schedules.
-Attend regular Northampton LTC committee meetings.
-Attend regular Northampton LTC social events and club nights.
-Play for the Northampton LTC league teams regularly.
Leadership
-Manage to NLTC coaching programme, structuring the programme and days to maximise numbers, profit and quality.
-Mentor our less experienced coaches and young leaders at the club.
-Spend time with parents and understand the link between strong relationships and sales.
Local schools
-Coaching school sessions. Confident to lead coaching sessions from Reception to Year 11 children. The main bulk of teaching will be towards KS2 primary aged children. All lesson plans are provided; however, we are looking for someone to develop them and change them regularly to keep our ideas and teaching fresh.
-Coaching before and after school clubs. Plan and deliver wrap around care for primary schools, delivery high quality, energetic lessons.
-Develop our current schools’ programme. Increase the number of schools that book with us each year.
-Keep registers up to date, using our booking app Activity Pro, manage the registers for each of the sessions and make sure parents have paid.
-Manage relationships with PE Coordinators, meeting with them to coordinate dates, costs, etc. Update with them regularly to check all the coaching is going well and meeting the expectations of the school.
-Manage current coaches, manage schedules for the schools’ programmes. In the busy summer months, there will be 3-4 schools per day, and multiple coaches needing to run these.
Group Sessions
-Plan and lead high quality group coaching sessions from beginner to county level players.
-Follow the NTC grading pathway in all group coaching sessions and be an ambassador for our structure we are very proud of.
-Complement our performance county pathway sessions we run at Kings Park Tennis Centre and have a feeder county pathway structure at NLTC.
-We currently have around 80 children in our NLTC programme, with over 500 children attending weekly in the Northampton Tennis Coaching umbrella. We are looking for someone to get this to a more stable number of 120-150 children per week.
Private Sessions
-Plan and lead high quality private coaching sessions from beginner to county level players. Both for juniors and adults.
-Plan and manage your own schedules.
-Be confident in delivering a wide variety of lessons, including use of video analysis, fitness based or tactical based sessions.

Northampton Tennis Coaching has been in operation for 12 years, working at multiple tennis clubs and venues across Northamptonshire. Currently running tennis programmes at Kings Park Tennis Centre, Northampton LTC, Kettering TC, Roade TC and Collingtree Tennis Club.
We also work in over 30 primary schools across Northamptonshire, teaching over 400 children each week.
Northampton Lawn Tennis Club is a thriving 6 floodlit court club, with a fully operational bar, function room and a club shop.
The tennis club boasts a healthy membership and is financially stable with 6 nearly new courts and a Pickleball court with a positive working committee.
The club still has huge room for growth, with court optimisation still only under 20% and enough space to double the membership and coaching programme.
Essential characteristics:
•Commitment and a desire to deliver a high standard of coaching
•Vast experience of coaching a range of ages and abilities
•Able to work as part of a team and under own initiative
•Excellent communication skills and has been around a club committee environment.
•Willingness to learn and grow as a coach and within the team of coaches
•Ability to manage a team of coaches, especially young leaders and Level 1s.
•High level knowledge of rackets and equipment to be able to work and sell in our club shop.
