Instructor / Level 2+ Tennis Coach
Some of the coaching lessons we deliver are free or discounted to those who would like to access them, with equipment provided free of charge (you, as the coach, will still be paid as usual for this delivery). This is made possible by work with charities and community committees that Community Tennis Coordinator Danny does to facilitate this. Therefore, this is a unique opportunity to reach out and work with those who might not ordinarily have access to playing tennis.
The role we are offering is therefore very diverse - no two days are the same! Coaches can work in more economically-deprived areas of Leeds or work in areas that live and breathe tennis, or a mix of both.
We also offer a coaching bursary scheme, whereby we pay for your next coaching qualification in exchange for hours delivered on the programme. For example, if you want to do your Level 2 coaching course, we can fund £625.00 to cover the cost of the course, whilst you earn the cost back at a rate of £13.88 per hour (45 hours). The same applies for coaches interested in getting their Level 3 qualification with a bursary of £950.00 for 60 hours, working out at £15.83 per hour. Since the start of 2022, 4 coaches have achieved their next qualification with the support of Community Tennis Coordinator Danny.
The hours that we can offer can be negotiated and are flexible based upon other commitments. For example, you could have 3 hours per week or up to 10 hours per work, dependent upon any other roles you may have.
Pay per hour for Level 2 coaches is upwards of £14.00 per hour for some venues, with an extra £2.00 per hour for having 6 or more players involved in your class and an extra £4.00 (total of £18.00 per hour) for having 8 or more players. This is an area-leading rate of pay. The Level 3 coaches, the base rate is £16.00 per hour with the same incentives as above (up to £20.00 per hour).
Our focus, as a local authority, is to promote tennis throughout the year for all age groups, both adults and children, through social play, internal competition and to offer professional coaching to any players who want to improve their standard of play.
