Head Coach
Queens Sports Club currently runs a coaching programme catering to different skill levels and age groups. We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic head coach to re-invigorate tennis at all levels at the club. The Head Coach will have ownership of the entire coaching programme including all adult groups plus a vibrant junior squad. The coach will have guaranteed access to courts throughout the year and the support of committee members.
Responsibilities include:
•Maintain, manage and promote the on-court tennis programme
•Identify talented young players
•Develop links with local schools
•Provide high-quality individual, group and team coaching opportunities
•Participate and help in team selection
•Manage any assistant coaches required to deliver the programme
•Organise regular intra/inter competitive opportunities for juniors/intermediates
•A willingness to participate in and contribute to the club outside of purely the coaching role
•Attend and contribute to committee meetings
•Stay current with the latest coaching techniques and industry trends
Queens Sports Club, based in Halifax West Yorkshire, includes tennis, squash, racketball, pickleball and a gym. The Club has diversified income streams which include membership, bar revenue, social activity, club hire & sponsorship.
The club regularly makes improvements to the facilities
We have a regular court maintenance programme and the club is the only faicilty with indoor tennis courts within the area.The Club has a total of eight tennis courts, 2 of which are indoor. All courts are floodlit.
The committee is also considering adding Padel Courts (might involve conversion of existing tennis court/s).
We have over 300 members which includes a junior section
•Person must be a qualified and experienced LTA accredited minimum level 3, preferably level 4 Club coach or level 5 Performance Coach
•An enthusiastic, trustworthy, reliable and highly motivated individual who is committed to contributing to the success of the club both on and off the court
•Strong playing standard
•Passion for tennis and a commitment to player development
•A track record of delivering a high quality tennis programme to both juniors and adults
•Demonstrated ability to work with players of all ages and abilities
•The ability to inspire and manage assistant coaches with leadership experience
•Organised with good IT and financial management skills
•Excellent communicator/customer service skills
•Satisfactory DBS and a good understanding of Safeguarding Standards and practice
