Head Coach at Winterbourne Tennis Club
Winterbourne Tennis Club is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Coach to lead our small coaching team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of coaching experience, a deep understanding of player development, and a commitment to enhancing the tennis experience for all members. We are looking for someone who can work with our experienced existing Level 2 coach as well as offering 1:1 and group coaching to members as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review our existing coaching programs for players of all ages and skill levels and work with our experienced level 2 coach to make any improvements needed.
- Provide high-quality individual and group coaching sessions.
- Mentor and manage more junior coaches.
- Organize and oversee club tournaments, clinics, and social events (shared with our existing Level 2 coach).
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and improvement.
- Collaborate with club management to promote and grow the club’s membership.
- Stay current with the latest coaching techniques and industry trends.
Winterbourne Tennis Club is a small club in the heart of Winterbourne. It is a community club with support from the local parish council. The club consists of 3 courts (plus a mini court), which have recently been refurbished with new court surfaces and floodlights and also has a small club house.
The club has a diverse membership base, of 140 members, ranging from beginners to advanced players. We are dedicated to fostering a love for tennis and developing talent at all levels. We are particularly proud and known for our juniors tennis classes and development.
- Proven experience as a tennis coach, with a minimum of 3 years in a coaching role.
- Level 3 LTA Accredited (or a Level 2 working towards Level 3).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with players of all ages and abilities.
- Leadership experience and the ability to inspire and manage a small coaching team.
- Passion for tennis and a commitment to player development.
- We would consider an umbrella approach, sharing the role with another club(s).
