Head Coach - Stafford Manor Indoor Tennis Centre
This is a Full-time, employed role at our new Indoor Tennis Centre, in Stafford, Staffordshire balancing 20 hours of core group delivery and additional individual coaching hours.
Key On Court Responsibilities:
Conduct tennis coaching sessions, including LTA Youth Start, Tennis Express, Adult Sessions at varied levels and School Tennis sessions.
Personal Coaching Business: Opportunity to supplement income through individual coaching on a self-employed basis, free court rental indoors for the first three months to get you started.
Hours & Compensation:
Full-time role, 20 hours per week, plus up to 20 hours of individual coaching with reduced court fees for 3 months.
Current Coaching Schedule:
Monday - Friday 14:30 - 15:30 - School Delivery
Monday: 16:30 - 20:30
Tuesday: 16:30 - 19:30
Wednesday: 16:00 - 20:00
Saturday: 10:00 - 14:00
Starting salary: dependent on qualifications and experience.
Potential for additional income from personal coaching, estimated at £12,000 - £16,000 per year.
Total combined income potential: Up to £40,000 per year.
Stafford Manor Indoor Tennis Centre, formally known as Baseline Tennis Centre, is located within Stafford manor High School in the bustling market town of Stafford. The Centre opened in 2010 and although located within school, it boasts its own independent access allowing for autonomy from the schools site. The facilities includes:
3 indoor courts with viewing gallery
3 outdoor courts

The successful applicant will ideally be an LTA Accredited Level 4 coach or above (but we will accept exceptional Level 3 candidates) and have:
On-Court:
Mastery in implementing cutting-edge LTA coaching techniques and tailoring sessions to cater to a range of skill levels, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants by adhering to safeguarding policies and promoting a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
Ideal - Off-Court Responsibilities:
Strong strategic planning skills to develop and execute long-term visions for the Centre’s growth, including infrastructure improvements, program expansion, and financial sustainability.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate disputes among staff or members diplomatically and maintain a harmonious Centre environment.
General Skills and Qualities:
The capacity to adapt to changing priorities and roles, particularly as the Centre grows and the balance of responsibilities potentially shifts.
A creative problem-solving approach, able to address challenges and identify opportunities for improvement within both coaching and management realms.
A dedication to personal and professional development, staying abreast of the latest trends in tennis coaching, sports management, and customer service.
Ideal Candidate:
Ideally seeking a LTA Qualified and Accredited Level 4 or 5 coach, but will consider exceptional Level 3 candidates.
Passionate about tennis with a solid background in coaching and sports management.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills, capable of managing both the Centre's operations and its coaching program.
Adaptable, with the ability to balance coaching and management duties as the Centre grows.
Committed to personal development and the growth of tennis within the community.
