Full-time Salaried Coach & Competition Organiser, Eastbourne
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time coach to join our team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic individual who thrives on developing players at all levels, building a comprehensive competition programme, and contributing to the growth of our tennis program. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Player Development:
Deliver high-quality coaching sessions for juniors, adults, and performance-level players.
Exhibit a genuine passion for helping players improve and reach their full potential. This passion is the foundation of our programme, which emphasizes continuous growth and development for every player.
Create a positive, motivating environment that inspires players to give their best and fuels their love for the game.
Competition Programme Leadership:
Develop and lead the club’s competition programme across all ages and levels to an outstanding standard by organizing high-quality tournaments, fostering competitive opportunities for players of all abilities, and ensuring alignment with best practices in the industry. Serve as a role model by setting clear standards for excellence and collaboration.
Organize, promote, and oversee internal and external competitions.
Work closely with the Sussex LTA team to ensure alignment with their local initiatives.
Support players in entering appropriate competitions and provide guidance on progression.
Program Growth:
Assist in expanding the tennis program by attracting new players and retaining current participants.
Support club events and activities to enhance community engagement.
Provide feedback and progress reports to players and parents where applicable.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with team members to ensure a cohesive approach to player development.
Contribute ideas for improving our curriculum, programs, and services offered by the club.
Attend regular team meetings and training sessions.
Professionalism and Presentation:
Maintain a high standard of professionalism both on and off the court.
Adhere to club policies, including dress code and punctuality.
Represent the club positively in all interactions with players, families, and the wider community.
Administrative Duties:
Assist with scheduling lessons, managing bookings, and recording player progress.
Provide support for club operations, including promotional activities such as open days, social events, and themed tournaments, as well as community outreach programs to enhance engagement and visibility.
Maintain accurate records and reports for sessions and player development.

We are looking for a strong individual who demonstrates the following qualities:
Strong Playing Standard: Essential for inspiring players and leading by example on the court.
Passion for Tennis: A genuine love for the sport, driving continuous player improvement and enjoyment.
Leadership and Communication: Confidence in leading sessions and competitions, setting high standards, and engaging effectively with all stakeholders.
Teamwork: A collaborative spirit to contribute to a supportive, dynamic club environment.
Organisational Skills: Strong time management to balance coaching, competition planning, and administrative duties. Strong computer literacy and social media awareness.
Minimum LTA Level 2 Coaching Qualification (or equivalent).
Proven experience coaching players of varying ages and abilities.
First Aid Certification and DBS check required.
