Self employed position working closely with the club in relation to performance and development of the Coach-led coaching programme.

The head coach will be expected to manage themselves, as well as other coaches and coaching assistants. The successful applicant will be required to lead, inspire and motivate Junior players both through the Junior Coaching Programme but also wider Junior Tennis involvement. They will need to be confident and encouraging in Group sessions, Cardio tennis, school sessions, competitions and individual lessons.

They will be required to generate demand by establishing links with a wide range of local schools and other sports clubs, with the help of the committee. The coach will need to be proactive and innovative to promote initiatives including, summer camps, tennis weekends, tournaments, competitions and aid the club in developing the coaching and tennis programme.

There is an established core number of team players and a Junior coaching scheme, and the club are looking for continued development of these to further improve the quality of tennis and maintain the upward progress of the Club. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to expand their programme and business within WLTC.

Wollaston Lawn Tennis Club is one of the friendliest and welcoming Tennis clubs in the Midlands Area, based on the outskirts of Stourbridge, set in a beautiful rural location. The Club has 8 high quality all weather tennis courts, which are all floodlit to County standard. The Club has a well established Junior and Adult membership base, as well as a strong financial stability.

It also has an enthusiastic and hard working Committee and team of volunteer members who are committed to work with the Coach in moving Wollaston forward to grow its membership.

The existing coaching programme has a regular base of weekly sessions and significant summer / half term ‘holiday camp’ numbers.

We are looking for a highly motivated, confident and ambitious candidate to join our Club. The Coach will need excellent communication skills to enable them to work well with both Adult and Junior players. We see this position as a great opportunity for the applicant to grow with the Club.
