Create, develop and work extensively with county level junior Tennis players with the goal to produce quality competitors that can access the Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC). You will be a pivotal coach across the entire ‘Team Bath Tennis Player Pathway’ developing players in Club, Development and Next GEN programmes while also working closely with the RPDC Head Coach to help players transition up the pathway.

You will work closely with the current RPDC & Club coaching team to help create a pipeline of players that will emerge from the 10&U Performance Programme.

You will drive new players into the term time programme from holiday camps, school visits and open days.

Regular communication with parents on a formal and informal basis will be expected to largely discuss players and their development while also promoting the tennis programme.

Implement and build on the current ‘Golden Ticket Programme’ which seeks out young talent and introduces them to the player pathway.

 

Work closely with local county performance officers when introducing new and upcoming players the LTA’s county pathway system.

 We are an 18 court facility, with 8 indoor (acrylic) and 10 outdoor (4 acrylic, 4 artificial clay and 2 clay) courts. We run tennis programmes at various venues with around 1000 bookings per week. We are also an LTA RPDC.
Our mandate is to introduce Tennis to all abilities and develop them to a county, regional & national level. We’re looking for someone to actively participate with us in this mission.

This person will create excitement and sell Tennis to potential players across the county and region. They will get the opportunity to bring forward the next generation of Team Bath players and support an already thriving Club and Academy Programme within a unique University setting.

A large part of the role will be the delivery of group tennis coaching sessions to players on our community tennis programme. The programme runs for 42 weeks of the year with an additional 10 weeks of holiday camps. The majority of this work will be between the hours of 4-9pm and Saturday mornings, but may also include some early morning sessions.

A demonstrated commitment to coaching at any level.

Proven engagement with relevant national and regional organisations and initiatives (LTA).

An ability to demonstrate up to date extensive knowledge of mini tennis and club coaching

Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of coaching support.

An understanding of the requirements to achieve elite levels of performance from mini tennis through to high performance.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to work in a facilitative rather than instructional manner.

Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences

Excellent presentation skills.
