Millfield School are seeking a creative and energetic Associate Performance Tennis Coach to deliver first-class coaching & competition programmes for school, county, regional and national level tennis players.

Millfield Tennis has a rich history of success from the schools’ arena to the development of international players. We are currently within the LTA Performance Network with a growing reputation of delivering a High-Performance Tennis Programme. We have outstanding indoor and outdoor facilities, and an integrated programme of player scholarships, education and support.

The Associate Performance Tennis Coach will integrate into a fully engaged team of coaches with a common goal of giving each pupil the best opportunity to exit Millfield School into a top-level UK/US University or with tennis as a valuable life experience. Lifestyle management and the development of the pupil are central to our philosophy. The Associate Performance Tennis Coach will lead the coaching and planning for Squad sessions and Individual players, be responsible for the planning and delivery of competitive schedules and provide parent feedback within their role.

The successful candidate will be working towards their level 4 Senior Performance Coach award, or equivalent, and will also have had experience playing the sport to a high level. We are a mixed school and therefore the role would include coaching girls and boys.

The standard workweek comprises an average of 32 hours from Monday to Saturday during term time, with an additional commitment of 4 weeks outside of term (36.6 total working weeks). In recognition of your dedication and commitment, you will receive an annual salary of £18,680.11 (inclusive of holiday pay), complemented by various staff benefits, including the option to enjoy freshly prepared lunches for a nominal fee of just £10 per month. The option to supplement the salary with additional private lessons is also available (the hourly rate will be dependent on the level of coaching qualification held by the successful applicant).

This is an outstanding opportunity to work in one of the UK’s leading sporting environments among a vibrant team of multisport coaches.

Millfield is the largest co-educational boarding school in the UK with over 1300 pupils, aged 13-18. The pupil body is comprised of 75% full boarders and 25% day pupils. Located in Street in Somerset, the school is set in 150 acres of beautiful campus with outstanding facilities including an Olympic sized pool, two gymnasiums, a golf course, equestrian centre, concert hall, theatre, art gallery and music centre. The Prep School, for ages 2-13, is located eight miles away at Glastonbury.

The school has in its 80 year history achieved significant growth. Established in 1935 by Jack ‘Boss’ Meyer with six princes from India, today it is an international, multi-faith school welcoming young people from all backgrounds and over 70 nationalities.
