We are looking for a high quality coach to run the coaching programme at Blackhall Tennis Club. The coach would have access to the courts during weekday hours of 08:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays when no matches are in place. The coach would also be able to work with the committee and team captains to arrange coaching sessions/cardio in evenings when there are no league matches.

As Head Coach, the coach would need to employ any coaches that they would like to support them - and also work closely with our safeguarding officer to ensure club meets LTA requirements.

There should be a variety of coaching sessions at the club throughout the week catering for Adults and Juniors and covering all ability levels.

The coach would be expected to promote their sessions online and boost the club's profile and membership base. We would like the coach to provide regular updates to the committee of coaching activities and keep the membership engaged of upcoming events. This would include a coaching report into our AGM.

Our coach should also be passionate about organising Junior Competitions in the Club and engaging with social tennis sessions and club clean-up mornings (2 per year).

Blackhall Tennis Club has been in the Edinburgh community for 109 years - and benefits from three Advantage Pro Astro Courts and LED floodlighting.

With a welcoming membership of close to 185 members, the club has teams competing in Juniors, Ladies and Mens Competitions. Our ladies team won the Scottish Cup as recently as 2018. We also have an engaged membership section of non-team level players who enjoy weekly Rusty Rackets sessions.

There's strong appetite across the membership for team training, cardio, summer camps etc and a self-driven coach would find it a great membership base to fit in with.

It's also important to the club to play a part in the local community. Blackhall is a great community with many families living a short distance away from the club. Over the years, the club has forged a strong relationship with the local children's sports committee and that has helped us expand coaching to other groups of youngsters such as the Brownies and Nursery.

We are looking for a self-driven, welcoming and engaging person to be the new Blackhall Tennis Club Head Coach. On Court, the coach has to be excellent in delivery of group and individual coaching and also offer cardio and fun based activity. At BLTC, we have a range of ability levels and the coach has to engage well with all members across our adult and junior categories.

Off Court, we require our coach to be actively promoting their sessions online/social media with online sign-ups and advanced payments. The right candidate would also be passionate about promoting tennis in the community and building relationships with the local primary schools and other groups.

The coach should take a strong interest in the fortunes of the club's Teams - whether that be playing in the teams themselves or encouraging others to play in Adult/Juniors Teams for BLTC.
