The Council are advertising herein for a Coaching Provider to deliver a high quality, sustainable and inclusive tennis coaching programme at Maidenbower Park, Southgate Park and West Green Park. Comprising of a total of 9 Courts (2 of which are floodlit)

Nine of the Local authority courts were upgraded across the three sites after a £270,000 renovation, funded by the UK Government, LTA Tennis Foundation and Crawley Borough Council. In addition, accessibility improvements to paths and upgrades to the perimeter fencing to a more robust and secure option were made.

The courts also benefit from new gate access systems at each venue and a booking management system introduced to assist with in-house management and use of the courts through the LTA ClubSpark system.


Crawley Borough Council (hereafter ‘The Council’) and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) are working in partnership to:
1) Encourage residents to either take up or play more tennis 2) Improve local tennis facilities for residents 3) Make sure local tennis courts are sustainable in the years to come.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE COACHING PROVIDER :
Focus of coaching programme
• To develop and deliver an effective, inspiring, and sustainable community tennis development programme for people of all ages and abilities (adults, juniors, minis)
• Provide attractive opportunities for casual and recreational players who perceive joining a club to be too formal for their needs to access the sport.
• Being a steward of the venues and encouraging players to join the ‘Parks Tennis in Crawley’ offers i.e. annual household season ticket etc
• The coach provider is expected to provide free tennis sessions in addition to their court time agreement.


These will be as follows:


o Free weekly one hour coaching sessions at Maidenbower Park for at least 40 weeks per year over the contracted period.

o To manage and maintain new free weekly community provisions in West Green Park in line with Maidenbower Park (Initiatives such as Tennis for Free and/or Free Park Tennis)
o Working alongside the Crawley Wellbeing team to offer up to 3 x six week (1hr) Free to the participant targeted wellbeing tennis programme per tennis season, over the contracted period.
o To work alongside and support the Crawley Wellbeing team and or partners with the LTA Serves programme.
o Identifying through the wellbeing service and offering low-cost coaching thereafter over the contracted period.
