Improve your disability-inclusion knowledge by learning how to provide a welcoming, accessible and inclusive tennis or padel environment, specifically tailored for disabled people. This course explores the diverse needs of disabled people, the reasonable adjustments needed and how to improve accessibility at your venue. You will also learn different ways to communicate inclusively with all players and practical strategies for impairment specific/inclusive on-court coaching.
By the end of this course, you will have a better understanding and more detailed knowledge of the following:
- What ‘inclusion’ and ‘accessibility’ really means.
- The barriers of participation in tennis by disabled people.
- How to overcome some of these through positive change.
- How the LTA can support you.
This course is designed for all coaches who are currently delivering impairment specific or inclusive tennis sessions and those who are planning to do so in the future, and for any volunteer who’d like to learn more from this topic.
