On Saturday 1 October 2022, the LTA will be hosting their second National Safeguarding Conference following the success of last year. In response to your valued feedback the theme of the day is “back to basics” aimed at supporting venues and those involved in tennis with the practical knowledge in safeguarding matters. Join us as we bring together people with a broad mix of knowledge, experience and expertise in safeguarding. Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from the Head of the Child Protection in Sport Unit, LTA President, two further guest speakers from a statutory agency and independent reviewer, and workshops facilitated by the LTA Safeguarding Team involving safeguarding standards, safeguarding case studies, and county safeguarding officer roles/venue partnership.
This conference will be virtually attended and allow everyone involved in tennis to develop their safeguarding knowledge and will be offered, but not limited to: coaches, welfare officers, county safeguarding officers, officials, and county and venue committee members. It is free to attend the conference and all attendees will achieve their LTA level 1 and level 2 safeguarding training. Attendees will also be entered into a raffle to win:
- An experience day at the National Tennis Centre (includes – refreshments/lunch, interactive zone experience, tour of the NTC/courts and tennis coaching from a top LTA performance coach)
- A pair of tickets to an LTA major event (excluding Wimbledon, The Championships) in 2023. There are five pairs of tickets to be won (max one per person).
- 5 x tennis racquets
