With the 2024 clay court season in full swing, April brought standout wins, first tour level titles and even more career milestones for our British players.
Now it’s over to you to decide who you think deserves the Player of the Month awards for April.
How does it work?
Every month, three players will be nominated for each of the following categories:
- Women’s singles
- Men’s singles
- Doubles
- Wheelchair

Women’s singles
- Helped lead the Lexus Great Britain Billie Jean King Cup team to the Finals in November by winning both of her singles matches during the qualifying tie against France
- Defeated world No.24 Caroline Garcia and Diane Parry in three sets to secure victory for the Brits
- Reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 event at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix
- Jumped almost 80 places in the rankings as a result
- Won her first professional ITF tour level title at the W35 event in Nottingham
- Defeated France’s Julie Belgraver (ranked 205 places above her) to win 7-6(7), 6-3
- The 15-year-old has preliminarily jumped around 200 places in the WTA rankings as a result of her title success
- Helped lead the Lexus Great Britain Billie Jean King Cup team to the Finals in November by winning her singles match against France’s Clara Burel
Men’s singles
- Reached the quarter-final of the ATP 250 event in Munich
- Defeated Vit Kopriva and Rudolf Molleker en route to the quarter-finals before losing out to world No.15 Taylor Fritz
- Enjoyed a run to the quarter-final of the Barcelona Open (ATP 500 event)
- Defeated Harold Mayot and Roberto Bautista Agut en route to the final eight before losing to Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry
- Recorded his 200th ATP tour-level win
- Won his 10th professional singles title at the M25 Nottingham event
- Dropped just two sets throughout the week before overcoming fellow Brit Charles Broom 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 to lift the trophy
- Came through two rounds of qualifying to reach the quarter-final of the Busan Challenger
Doubles
- Lifted his first ATP tour level trophy at the Grand Prix Hassan II (ATP 250) alongside Harri Heliovaara
- The British, Finnish duo defeated Lucas Miedler and Alexander Earlier 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 to clinch the silverware
- Made it back-to-back titles when they took home the Madrid Challenger title the following week, having dropped just one set
- Crowned the W75 Chiasso champion alongside Lena Papadakis
- Sealed back-to-back titles after teaming up with American Quinn Gleason to clinch the W75 Charlottesville title
- These titles marked the joint biggest titles of her career
- Semi-finalist at the W75 Bellinzona
- Reached their first WTA-level final at the Open Capfinances Rouen Metropole (WTA 250)
- Finished runners-up at the tournament, after being narrowly beaten by Timea Babos and Irina Khromacheva
Wheelchair
- Enjoyed a run to the final of the Allianz Para Trophy, where he missed out on the title to Spanish star Martin de la Puente in a close three set battle
- Joined forces with Alfie Hewett to finish runners-up in the Japan Open doubles draw, after they were defeated 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 by Oda and Takuya Miki
- Semi-finalist in the Japan Open singles draw
- Quarter-finalist at the Seoul Korea Open
- Finished runner-up in the Japan Open singles event – losing out to Tokito Oda 6-1, 7-6(5) in the final
- Joined forces with Gordon Reid to finish runners-up in the Japan Open doubles draw, after they were defeated 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 by Oda and Takuya Miki
- Competed at the Seoul Korea Open where she finished runner-up in the doubles event alongisde Zhenzhen Zhu
- Made it to the semi-final of the Japan Open doubles draw with partner Charlotte Fairbank
- Reached the singles quarter-finals at the Japan Open and Seoul Korea Open
