Miami Open 2025: Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool lose final against top seeds

• 1 MINUTE READ

British doubles duo Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool finished as runners-up against top seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic in the Miami Open final.

The No.1 ranked doubles team of the season completed the sunshine double in Miami and Indian Wells with a 7-6(3), 6-3 win over the Brits in an hour and 18 minutes.

Arevalo and Pavic finished last season as the world No.1s and showed their quality throughout a solid final performance.

They dropped just two points on serve (29/31) in the opening set and returned well in the tie-break – finding a clean return winner to go 4-0 up in the breaker, before sealing the set after 44 minutes.

A rain delay midway through the second set disrupted the rhythm of the match. Once back on court Arevalo and Pavic managed to clinch their first break of the match before going on to serve out back-to-back ATP Masters 1000 titles.

In Miami, they also leave having clinched a victory over Australian Open champions Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara in the semi-finals.

Both players are set to jump one place in the ATP rankings on Monday – Glasspool ranked world No.15 and Cash No.16.
