We have today announced a three-year partnership with Howden, the global insurance intermediary group, that will run through to 2027.
Howden will be designated as an Official Partner to the LTA, taking the brand to new audiences in local communities across the UK. The tie up will further underline Howden’s continued commitment to sport, where it brings deep insurance expertise and through its Sport & Entertainment division to amateur tennis clubs and associations through to the elite tournaments
Howden has 22,000 people across 55 countries around the world providing insurance products and solutions to a wide range of clients, from individuals via its UK branch network through to SMEs and multinational corporations.
Howden has a long-standing relationship with the LTA, and has been its Official Insurance Broker for nearly 20 years; it will continue in this role as part of the sponsorship deal. Howden also partners with The British and Irish Lions, Ascot Racecourse and Emirates GBR in SailGP’s sailing championship.
Tennis brings together communities, families, and the country as a whole. With a Howden high street branch or office in over 200 locations across the UK, it is deeply embedded in local communities and will support us in delivering on our mission: Tennis Opened Up.
Spanning across tennis and padel, the world’s fastest growing sport, the LTA and Howden will collaborate closely with coaches and venues across the country, utilising Howden’s branch network to support the 3,500 + LTA registered venues. Connecting local clubs and local branches, along with tennis hubs such as Eastbourne and Birmingham, with the prestigious LTA grass court season is at the heart of the partnership.
LTA Advantage members will also have the chance to win exclusive prizes to the HSBC Championships and other summer highlights of the sporting calendar courtesy of Howden.
Chris Pollard, LTA Managing Director of Commercial and Operations said:“We at the LTA are thrilled to continue our partnership with Howden and have them on board as our Official Insurance Broker. Our collaboration to support British coaches and venues will help our vision of Opening Tennis and Padel Up and deliver positive change through these sports across the country.”
David Howden, CEO and Founder, Howden said: "For almost two decades, Howden has been the insurance broker of choice for the LTA. But today we take it to the next level. We're already two like-minded organisations. We both have a local presence in towns and cities the length and breadth of the UK. We both love serving our local communities. We are both equally passionate about nurturing grass roots sports. And we are both great British brands! But by doubling up, we can provide even better support to our fantastic members and customers. At Howden we're all about insuring greatness. And having added the LTA to our roster of stand-out sponsorships including Royal Ascot, the British and Irish Lions and Emirates Sail GP, we’ve now completed our very own sporting Grand Slam.”
