Great Britain Padel team announced for 2024 Padel European Championships

The grass court season and Olympics aren’t the only sporting event set to line the summer calendar this year, as British Padel stars prepare to compete at the European Padel Championships.
With just over a month to go until Great Britain bid to become European champions, a team of 16 men and women have been named in the squad that will contest the title in Cagliari, Italy.
The European Padel Championships are set to take place between 22-27 July at the Tennis Club Cagliari and are used as the qualification event for the World Championships, which will commence at the end of October in Qatar.

The Brits are just one of a number of countires who have already qualified for the European Championships, with a few spots still up for grabs.

The format of the tournament will see the nations be split into four groups of four teams - 10 of which will come through direct qualification based on their finishing position at the last European Championships, while the other six teams will be determined by the qualification event.
After the group stages, the two teams that top each group will advance to the Play-Offs to determine positions 1-8 while the remaining teams will bid to finish in positons 9-16.
The last European Championships took place in Marbella back in 2021 and saw the men's team finish in sixth place. As a result, the British men enter this year's Championships as the sixth seeds, meanwhile, the women - who finished in 10th place in 2021 - will arrive as the 10th seeds.
