Great Britain draw Spain & Australia in United Cup

Great Britain have been drawn against Spain and Australia in the inaugural United Cup in Australia from 29 December to 8 January.
The new mixed team event, in partnership between the ATP, WTA and Tennis Australia, will see 18 nations from across the world compete in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney as part of the build up to the Australian Open.
The British team – led by world No.14 Cam Norrie, Dan Evans and Billie Jean King Cup stars, Harriet Dart and Katie Swan – will face two tough battles in their group against Rafael Nadal’s Spain and Nick Kyrgios’s Australia.

To qualify, countries must be in either the top six WTA ranking, top five ATP ranking or the top five combine ranking nations in the world.
Each tie will feature two men’s singles, two women’s singles and one mixed doubles rubber in a best of five match format.
There will be two groups competing in each city, with the winners of each group going head-to-head to become the city champions and progress to the final four in Sydney. The fourth spot will be taken by the next best-performing team from the group-stages.
