Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Latest advice (updated on 22 March 2023)

This page provides up to date information as to how the coronavirus (COVID-19), and the latest government advice around it, relates to tennis activities in Britain and all those involved in delivering them, with separate guidelines in place for each of EnglandScotland, Wales, and the Channel Islands.

Latest updates

England

As of 1 April 2022, England entered the government's 'Living with respiratory infections, including COVID-19' phase of their response to the coronavirus pandemic.

This means there are now no coronavirus-related legal restrictions in place.

All forms of tennis activity can take place with no coronavirus-related restrictions on how many people can participate, and all tennis facilities can open.

Scotland

As a result of the removal of most coronavirus regulations in Scotland, sportscotland’s return to sport and physical guidance has been withdrawn.

This means there are now no tennis-specific coronavirus-related restrictions in place, and all forms of tennis activity can take place with and all tennis facilities can open.

Wales

From the 30 May 2022 in Wales, coronavirus regulations came to an end.

This means that there are no coronavirus-related legal restrictions on tennis activity in place.

Channel Islands

As of 19 January 2023 for Jersey, all coronavirus restrictions have been removed. Guernsey was the first part the UK to remove restrictions on 17 February 2022.

This means that there are no coronavirus-related legal restrictions on tennis activity in place. More information on staying safe while playing sport can be found below:
