British Tennis Round-up: Clarke captures maiden ATP Challenger title

United States – Binghamton
Jay Clarke celebrated a career milestone on Sunday as he captured his maiden ATP Challenger title.
The 20-year-old from Derby defeated Australian top seed Jordan Thompson in a battling three-set final to lift the Binghamton Challenger trophy and joins Andy Murray (2005), Kyle Edmund (2015) and Cameron Norrie (2017) amongst its illustrious list of winners.
As a result, Clarke reached a new career-high of world No.175 to become the new British No.3!
United States – Atlanta
Cameron Norrie also enjoyed success across the pond as he reached his second ATP World Tour semi-final whilst playing at the Atlanta Open. The British No.2 defeated Malek Jaziri, Jeremy Chardy and Nick Kyrgios en route to the final four, but fell in three sets to American eighth seed Ryan Harrison.
Finland
Francesca Jones travelled to Tampere where she clinched her third ITF Pro Circuit title. The 17-year old and top seed defeated Serbia’s Bojana Marinkovic 6-2, 7-6(2) in the final to win the $15,000 title.
Lithuania
Paul Jubb made his stamp on the professional circuit as claimed his first Futures title. The 18-year-old successfully qualified for the tournament in Vilnius and went on to win the trophy with a straight-forward 6-4, 6-2 victory over Russian fifth seed Denis Klok.
