• 2 MINUTE READ
The main draw for the BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells 2025 has been announced with the Brits set for challenging matchups in California this week.
There are currently five Brits set to compete in the singles draws at Indian Wells – including British No.1s Jack Draper and Katie Boulter, 2021 champion Cam Norrie, former US Open winner Emma Raducanu and rising star Jacob Fearnley.
Sonay Kartal could also join the line-up if she can come through her qualifier against Clervie Ngounoue later today.
Indian Wells 2025 first round draw
- Katie Boulter (GBR) (26) vs BYE
- Emma Raducanu (GBR) vs Moyuka Uchijima (JPN)
- Jack Draper (GBR) (12) vs BYE
- Cam Norrie (GBR) vs Luca Nardi (ITA)
- Jacob Fearnley (GBR) vs Joao Fonseca (BRA)
One of the main headlines is that Fearnley will take on the Buenos Aires champion Joao Fonseca in the opening round to set up a second round clash with fellow countryman Draper.
Fonseca has been one of the standout players this season and at just 18-years-old, has already won his first ATP title. British No.3 Fearnley has also made an impressive start to the season having reached the third round of the Australian Open on his debut and representing GB at the Davis Cup.
If they were to meet in the second round, it would be a first professional match between Fearnley and Draper, who both grew up playing against each other and teaming up at junior Davis Cups.
Elsewhere, we could be set for a blockbuster second round between Raducanu and third seed Coco Gauff, if the British star can get past world No.52 Moyuka Uchijima.
This will be the second meeting between the two after Raducanu beat the Uchijima in Seoul back in 2022.
As the 26th seed, Boulter has a bye into the second round and will have to see whether she will play either Irina-Camelia Begu or Ann Li.
Her path through the tournament could see her face seventh seed and former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina in the third round.
Former Indian Wells title winner Norrie will open his campaign in the desert with a match against Italian 21-year-old Luca Nardi. The 29-year-old Brit won their previous meeting in Rome three years ago and will be hoping to regain his form against the world No.67.
The road doesn’t get any easier for Norrie who would face 23rd seed Jiri Lehecka in the second round and then potentially last year’s champion at The Queen’s Club, Tommy Paul, in the third.
Draws for both the men’s and women’s doubles events will be announced on 7 March.
