LTA Padel competitions are organised into five levels from Grade 5 - Grade 1.
Grade 5 is the perfect introduction to graded competition for new or inexperienced players, while Grade 1 encompasses the top padel competitions in the UK. Find out more about the grades below:
Grade 5 - Local Tour
If you're new to competing, then the Local Tour is for you. It's local, first come first served acceptance and can take place on just one court!
Draws are made up of eight players and played in a compass draw – which means each team is guaranteed to play at least three matches. Matches are played as one set.
Grade 4 - County Tour
If you want to compete against different players at different venues – the County Tour could be just for you. Acceptance to these events is based on the LTA Padel Rankings.
Draws are made up of eight players and are played in a round robin to elimination format – with each player competing in a group stage before the leaders go through to a straight knockout. Matches are played as short sets to four games.
Grade 3 - Regional Tour
Bigger venues, larger draws, but just as much fun. These competitions are perfect if you know your way around the court, have experience of competing and want to keep improving your game. Acceptance to Regional Tour events is based on LTA Padel Ranking.
Draws are made up of 16 players and are played in a round robin to elimination format – with each player competing in a group stage before the leaders go through to a straight knockout. Matches are played as short sets to four games.
Grade 2 - National Tour
The National Tour is for players who want to test themselves against the very best players in Britain and compete at the biggest venues across the nation. Acceptance to National Tour events is based on LTA Padel Ranking.
Draws can be made up of eight, 12 or 16 players and are played in a round robin to elimination (with consolation draw) or as a compass draw. Matches are played as best of three sets with a championship tie-break final set.
The British Tour encompasses the top padel competitions in the UK. The very best players from across Britain compete in standout events, across full weekends, for prize money. Acceptance onto British Tour events is based on players' LTA Padel Ranking.

Watch out for information about the 2025 league coming here later in the year. If you want to find out more, check out the 2024 entry information guide.
