Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge

In September 2020, the formerly known Fed Cup changed its name in honour of former World No.1 Billie Jean King, shaping what is now widely acknowledged as the Billie Jean King Cup.

With more than 100 nations competing in the tournament, the Billie Jean King Cup is the world’s largest international team competition for women.

The Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers consist of seven ties played on a home-and-away basis. All of these ties will be played as best-of-five matches – four singles followed by doubles, played over two days.

Canada made history as they were crowned Billie Jean King Cup champions for the first time, after beating Italy in a 2-0 victory.

18-year-old Marina Stakusic gave the Candians a strong lead after she beat world No.43 Martina Trevisan, 7-5, 6-3, before 2021 US Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez sealed the silverware after beating Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-3.

The 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Finals will be taking place at the Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena Arena in Malaga, Spain in November 2024.
