Men’s final preview: Lloyd Harris (RSA) vs Leandro Riedi (SUI)
It will be two unseeded players battling it out for the ATP Challenger title this year as South Africa's Lloyd Harris faces Switzerlands Leandro Riedi.
Harris - who knocked out Britain's Billy Harris in the semi-finals - is a former US Open quarter-finalist (2021) and world No.31.
He is a five-time ATP Challenger tournament winner and earlier this week he picked up the best win of the season by ranking against world No.89 Alexander Vukic.
22-year-old Riedi came into Surbiton looking for his third ATP Challenger title of the season Oeiras and Ottignies - and has impressed with victories over fellow Swiss star Dominic Stricker and sixth seed Brandon Nakashima.
Riedi – a former title winner at M25 events in Aldershot and Nottingham – is a former Roland Garros juniors finalist and has a career-high ranking of world No.126.
Sunday will be the first meeting between the two.
Women’s final preview: Tatjana Maria (GER) (2) vs Alison van Uytvanck (BEL)
The women’s single final will feature two players who have had great success on the grass courts – Germany’s Tatjana Maria and Belgium’s Alison van Uytvanck.
Second seed Maria is a former Wimbledon semi-finalist (2022) and won a WTA 250 title at the Mallorca Open back in 2018.
At 36, Maria reached her career-high ranking of world No.42 earlier this year and has made the second round of four WTA 1000 events – Dubai, Indian Wells, Madrid and Rome.
Van Uytvanck is a former champion here at Surbiton after beating Australia’s Arina Rodionova 7-6(3), 6-2 in the 2022 final and also lifted the Nottingham Trophy in 2021.
After coming back from injury in February this year, the Belgian has reached two ITF finals this season, winning one title at the W35 Hammamet.
Van Uytvanck currently leads the head-to-head 3-1, with victories in Equeurdreville (2012), Quebec City (2017) and Limoges (2021) – all on hard courts.
