Rothesay Open Nottingham 2024: Former champion Dan Evans set for Nottingham return
• 2 MINUTE READ
Two-time champion Dan Evans will be returning to the 2024 Rothesay Open Nottingham, as the 33-year-old looks to reclaim the crown on home soil.
Evans – who will enter the men’s singles draw as the top seed - won his first of two titles on the grass at Nottingham back in 2019, before going on to lift a second in 2022 when he beat Australia’s Jordan Thompson 6-4, 6-4 in the final.
The current British No.3 is joined by a host of international and rising stars who are set to compete at the ATP Challenger event, which gets underway on 8 June.
Other British talent included on the main draw entry list is British No.5 and two time ATP Challenger winner Liam Broady. 2023 saw Broady finish runner-up in the doubles event at the Nottingham Tennis Centre alongside Jonny O’Mara, with the pair being edged to the trophy by all-British duo Jacob Fearnley and Johannus Monday.
China’s Juncheng Shang, who is currently third on the ATP Next Gen Finals Race to Jeddah standings, is one of three rising tennis stars who are set to compete in Nottingham with Brazilian Joao Fonseca and Hong Kong's Coleman Wong also eager to leave their mark on the grass.
Other featured players include world No.86 Constant Lestienne, former Australian Open doubles champion Thanasi Kokkinakis and Swiss stars Dominic Stricker and Leandro Riedi.
