Rothesay Open Nottingham 2024: British No.1 Cam Norrie set for Nottingham this summer

• 2 MINUTE READ

British No.1 Cam Norrie is set to return to the Rothesay Open Nottingham for the first time in six years this summer after receiving a wild card into the main draw.

The WTA 250 and ATP Challenger event will get underway from 8-16 June at the Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre with limited tickets still available.

The 28-year-old will join fellow Brits Dan Evans and Liam Broady on the men’s side and will come in as the highest ranked player in the draw.

“The grass court season is one of my favourite times of the year and I can't wait to get started at the Rothesay Open Nottingham," Norrie said.

"It’s always special to play in front of your home crowd and I am excited to be coming back to Nottingham after a few years, so it's going to be a fun one. I know there’s been a lot of British success there over the last few years with Katie (Boulter), Andy (Murray) and Dan (Evans) winning titles, so hopefully we can continue that this summer as well.”

Norrie reached the Wimbledon semi-final back in 2022 – becoming only the fourth British man in the Open Era to do so – and is a former cinch Championships runner-up after making the final in 2021.

He’s a five-time ATP title-winner, including his career-best win at the 2021 ATP Masters event at Indian Wells – otherwise referred to as the ‘fifth Grand Slam’.

So far this season, he’s enjoyed his best run at the Australian Open where he made the fourth round, as well as reaching the semi-finals in Rio de Janeiro and quarter-finals in Auckland and Barcelona.

Norrie will be aiming to become fourth British man to win the Rothesay Open Nottingham title after Greg Rusedski (1997 & 2003), Evans (2019 & 2022) and Andy Murray (2023).
