The list of British wild card entries for the Rothesay Open Nottingham has been announced, including Heather Watson, Francesca Jones, Billy Harris and Paul Jubb.
The British quartet will join former champions Katie Boulter and Dan Evans, alongside fellow wild cards Cam Norrie and Emma Raducanu as strong challengers for the titles this year.
The Rothesay Open Nottingham gets underway with qualifying on Saturday 8 June, before the main draw gets started between 10-16 June.
WTA main draw wild cards | ATP Challenger main draw wild cards |
Heather Watson (GBR, world No.154) | Cam Norrie (GBR, world No.33) |
Emma Raducanu (GBR, world No.205) | Billy Harris (GBR, world No.201) |
Francesca Jones (GBR, world No.259) | Paul Jubb (GBR, world No.308) |
Watson reached a career-best fourth round at Wimbledon back in 2022 and has enjoyed some of her best results on the grass – including a semi-final in Nottingham last year, semi-final in Birmingham (2021) and two semi-finals in Eastbourne (2014 & 2017).
23-year-old Jones won the biggest singles title win of her career at the W75 Gardo over the last few weeks. She also made her first WTA 125 final earlier this year at the San Luis Open.
Harris has been in stellar form on the grass so far and is set to play in the quarter-final of the Lexus Surbiton Trophy later today. He’s made five ATP Challenger quarter-finals so far this season to help him to a career-high ranking at world No.181.
Like Harris, 24-year-old Jubb has also impressed over the last few weeks – taking out top seed Alex Michelsen in Surbiton as well as making the semi-final of the Kachreti Challenger in Georgia. Jubb is one of several British rising stars supported by our Pro Scholarship Programme, presented by Lexus.
Qualifying wild cards include:
- Katy Dunne (GBR, world No.330)
- Sarah Beth Grey (GBR, world No.363)
- Naiktha Bains (GBR, world No.581)
- Amelia Rajecki (GBR, world No.788)
