Rothesay Classic Birmingham 2022: Raducanu withdraws from Birmingham

Unfortunately after sustaining an injury in yesterday’s opening round match at the Rothesay Open Nottingham, Emma Raducanu has been forced to withdraw from next week’s Rothesay Classic Birmingham.
Raducanu said: “It was disappointing to go out this week with a side injury and unfortunately will no longer be able to play in Birmingham. I’m looking forward to be back on the match court soon though to enjoy the rest of the grass season.”
Tournament Director for the Rothesay Classic Birmingham, Patrick Hughesman responded: “Of course, it is a great shame our British tennis fans will not get the opportunity to see Emma playing in front of her home crowds at the Rothesay Classic Birmingham this year. However, it is totally understandable bearing in mind the injury she sustained and is obviously trying to recover from. We wish her a speedy recovery back to full fitness so that she can hopefully play the remainder of the grass court season.”
