“To be a part of the first women’s event at the LTA’s HSBC Championships in over 50 years is exciting and something that makes me incredibly proud,” Osaka commented.

“It's very special to compete at an historic venue like The Queen’s Club, and with the strength of the women's game right now, it's going to be a fantastic event.”

As part of a blockbuster fortnight of world class tennis at The Queen’s Club, the best stars in women’s tennis will take centre stage in West London to compete for their own slice of history.

Former world No.1 Osaka is one of the biggest names in women’s tennis, boasting two Australian Open and two US Open titles in her career so far.

It's very special to compete at an historic venue like The Queen’s Club, and with the strength of the women's game right now, it's going to be a fantastic event.

The seven-time WTA title winner has had some impressive results on grass in the past, having reached the semi-finals in Nottingham, quarter-final at s’Hertogenbosch and the third round of Wimbledon twice.

Osaka’s 2025 campaign has got off to a strong start already – reaching her first final since returning from maternity leave last year at the ASB Classic and with a third round appearance at the Australian Open.

“I feel great in my game,” she added. “I’m looking forward to the challenge and I will give everything to lift that title this summer.”
