Eurosport will also broadcast some of the Games in the UK this summer.
There are 172 quotas available across the five different events. Qualification is dependent on several factors, including ranking, whether a player has competed in the Davis Cup or Billie Jean King Cup, and the number of players already selected by a nation (limit of 12).

Tennis featured as one of the events at the first ever Olympic Games in 1896.
It remained in the Olympics event until after the 1924 Games when it was removed until eventually returning in 1988. Since 1988, tennis has continued to be an Olympic discipline with five different events.

Team GB has won more tennis medals at the Olympics than any other nation with 43.
The most recent successes include Andy Murray’s back-to-back gold medals at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Murray also won mixed doubles silver in 2012 with Laura Robson.
