Davis Cup 2025: Great Britain drawn against Poland in World Group I
• 1 MINUTE READ
The Lexus Great Britain Davis Cup team have been drawn against Poland in the 2025 Davis Cup World Group I.
The tie will be played on either 12-13 or 13-14 September with Poland having the choice of dates and venue.
Great Britain will need to beat Poland if they want to return to the Davis Cup Finals Qualifiers for the 2026 season. The Brits were defeated in the Qualifier First Round against Japan 3-2 earlier in the year.
The team that loses the tie will have to compete in the 2026 World Group I Play-Offs.
The tie will be played as best-of-five matches, including four singles and one doubles rubber – all as a best-of-three tie-break sets.
Poland reached the World Group I after they dispatched Georgia 4-0 in the Play-Offs back in February – despite missing their No.1 ranked player Hubert Hurkacz.
Great Britain and Poland have faced off eight times in the Davis Cup, with the Brits winning seven of their previous meetings.
However, Poland claimed a 3-2 victory in their most recent tie back in 2009, despite Andy Murray winning both of his singles rubbers.
