Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers 2025: Jodie Burrage joins as fifth member of the Lexus GB team

• 1 MINUTE READ

Jodie Burrage is set to join up with the Lexus GB Billie Jean King Cup squad for the upcoming Qualifier ties against Germany and Netherlands from 11-12 April.

Burrage will replace British No.2 Emma Raducanu who withdrew from the squad earlier in the week.

She adds to an already strong GB side that includes British No.1 Katie Boulter, Monastir champion Sonay Kartal, experienced Billie Jean King Cup star Harriet Dart and Britain’s top doubles player Olivia Nicholls.

It’s the third time that Burrage has been part of the squad, having been picked for the team against Mexico at the National Tennis Centre in 2021 and having made her debut against Sweden in 2023.

Burrage bounced back well from a series of long-term injuries at the backend of last season – winning the W100 Dubai title – and so far this year, she has picked up wins at the Australian Open, ASB Classic and ATX Open.

The Brits are set to play their Qualifiers against Germany and Netherlands at The Hague in Netherlands.

The GB team will need to top their group if they are to progress to the Finals later this year.

Last season, Keothavong’s side made the Billie Jean King Cup semi-finals for the second time in three years.
