This year has been a rollercoaster from beginning to end with the British players reaching new heights on the ATP, WTA, ITF and UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tours.

The 2025 LTA Player of the Year Awards highlight and acknowledge the British players who had standout performances during the 2024 season. 

The awards form part of the LTA Tennis Awards, presented by Lexus - highlighting the incredible achievements and contributions of people in tennis across Britain.

There are four awards on offer, with nominees selected by the LTA Performance team.

  • Female Player of the Year
  • Male Player of the Year
  • Doubles Player of the Year
  • Wheelchair Player of the Year

Voting is open exclusively for Advantage members until 23:59 on Thursday 2 January.

 

Female Player of the Year

Katie Boulter

Emma Raducanu

  • After finishing 2023 with a WTA ranking of No.285, she climbed back into the top 60 by the end of this year.
  • Won five straight matches for Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup as Anne Keothavong's team made it through to the semi-finals.
  • Enjoyed her best run at a Grand Slam since her 2021 US Open win as she reached the fourth round at Wimbledon.
  • Reached the semi-finals of the Rothesay Open Nottingham and played in four additional quarter-finals on the WTA Tour.

Sonay Kartal

  • Broke into the top 100 of the rankings for the first time in her career after winning her first WTA Tour title at the Jasmin Open in Tunisia in September.
  • Enjoyed her best run at a Grand Slam as she came through qualifying and made it through to the third round at Wimbledon before losing to America's Coco Gauff.
  • Won a total of six ITF World Tennis Tour titles in 2024, with the most recent coming at the Lexus W100 tournament in Shrewsbury as she beat Britain's Heather Watson in the final.
  • Won more W35 titles on the ITF World Tennis Tour than any other player in 2024.

Harriet Dart

  • Equalled her best run at a Grand Slam as she reached the third round at Wimbledon, beating fellow Brit Katie Boulter in round two. She also won her first round match in the US Open main draw.
  • Appeared in her first WTA tour-level semi-final at the Transylvania Open where she missed out on a spot in the final to Karolina Pliskova 6-3, 6-3.
  • Reached her first WTA 125 final in Canberra, missing out in the final against Nuria Parrizas Diaz 6-4, 6-3
  • Finished runner-up in the doubles at the Rothesay Open Nottingham with France's Diane Parry. She also won the W100 doubles title in Shrewsbury with partner Australian partner Olivia Gadecki.

Male Player of the Year

Jack Draper

  • Achieved his best result in a Grand Slam by reaching the semi-finals at the US Open. He became the eighth British man to reach the final four of a Grand Slam and only the fourth to do so at Flushing Meadows as he joined Greg Rusedski (1997), Tim Henman (2004) and Andy Murray (2008, 2011 and 2012).
  • Won his first ATP Tour title with a win against Italy's 2021 Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini in Stuttgart in June.
  • Secured his first ATP 500 title win after beating Karen Khachanov in the final of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, Austria in October.
  • Achieved a career-high ranking of No.15 in a season that saw him best his highest rankings win with a victory against world No.2 Carlos Alcaraz at the cinch Championship at Queen's Club.

Cam Norrie

  • Started the year in impressive fashion by beating world No.11 Casper Ruud at the Australian Open.
  • Recorded his 200th career win as he beat Roberto Bautista Agut at the Barcelona Open in April, becoming the eighth British man to reach the milestone in the Open Era.
  • Reached his first final of 2024 in Metz in November, losing against Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi.
  • Despite an injury-plagued season, Norrie has held on to his position in the top 50 of the ATP rankings.

Jacob Fearnley

  • Started 2024 with an ATP ranking of No.646 and rose to a career high of No.89 in November.
  • Won his first ATP Challenger title at the Rothesay Open Nottingham after coming through qualifying. He became the fourth Brit to win the trophy after Andy Murray (2023), Dan Evans (2019 and 2022) and Greg Rusedski (1997 and 2003).
  • After making ATP Tour debut in the Rothesay International Eastbourne in June, he then made his Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon and won his first round match against Alejandro Moro Canas at the All England Club.
  • Fnished the year with four ATP Challenger titles, with the last of those coming in at the Open d'Orléans in France in September.

Billy Harris

  • Made his Davis Cup debut in September to become Colour Holder No.326 and claimed a 6-4, 7-6(4) victory over Finland's Otto Virtanen in Manchester
  • A semi-finalist at the Rothesay International Eastbourne, his first appearance in the final four at an ATP Tour event
  • After making the semi-finals of the Rothesay Open Nottingham, he reached his first ATP 500 quarter-final at the cinch Championship, losing out to eventual runner-up Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 7-5
  • Made his Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon debut and lost out to Jaume Munar 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

Doubles Player of the Year

Henry Patten

  • Became the third British man to win the Wimbledon men's doubles title alongside Finnish partner Heliovaara, winning the final against the Australian pairing of Jordan Thompson and Max Purcell.
  • Became British No.1 doubles player for the first time in his career on 28 October 2024 and finished the year with a career-high ranking of No.14.
  • Won his first ATP Tour doubles titles in Morocco in April and went on to win three more titles before playing in the ATP Finals in Turin for the first time
  • Made his Davis Cup debut during the Finals Group Stage tie against Canada to become Colour Holder No.327, Alongside Neal Skupski, they beat Gabriel Diallo and Alexis Galarneau 7-6(4), 6-4.

Neal Skupski

  • Won the cinch Championships at The Queen's Club alongside partner Michael Venus, beating America's Taylor Fritz and Karen Khachanov in the final.
  • Won the Rothesay International Eastbourne a week later to complete a grass court double.
  • Selected to represent Great Britain at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, he also played in the Davis Cup and helped Henry Patten to a win on his debut in the competition against Canada in September.
  • Played in two mixed doubles Grand Slam finals in 2024, partnering USA's Desirae Krawczyk in the Australian Open and French Open.

Olivia Nicholls

  • Became the British No.1 in women's doubles for the first time in her career.
  • Played for Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup semi-finals, losing against the Slovakian pairing of Viktoria Hruncakova and Tereza Mihalikova.
  • Won her second WTA Tour title at the ATX Open in Texas alongside Australian partner Olivia Gadecki in March.
  • Lifted her first title of the year at the W75+H Porto with Sarah Beth Grey, defeating Francisca Jorge and Matilde Jorge 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 in the final.
  • Won the Charleston Pro tournament in March alongside Gadecki, beating Sara Erraniand Tereza Mihalikova in the final.

Wheelchair Player of the Year

Alfie Hewett

Gordon Reid

  • Won his second Paralympic gold medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games alongside Alfie Hewett, defeating Takuya Miki and Tokito Oda 6-2, 6-1 to complete the career 'Golden Slam'.
  • Clinched three more Grand Slam titles with partner Alfie Hewett, including a sixth Wimbledon title.
  • His Wimbledon title marked his 100th doubles trophy of his career.
  • Made the finals of both the singles and doubles at the Wheelchair Tennis Masters.
  • Helped Great Britain to defend their men's World Team Cup title in Antalya.

Andy Lapthorne

Greg Slade

  • Won his first Paralympic silver medal on his debut alongside Andy Lapthorne at the Paris Games.
  • Teamed up with fellow Brit Lapthorne to win the Rothesay International Eastbourne - one of three ITF 2 quad doubles titles they won together
  • Won the German Open doubles title with partner Tomas Masaryk, beating top seeds Leandro Pena and Ymanitu Silva 7-6(4), 6-4 in the final.
  • Won his first ITF Super Series singles match at the Melbourne Wheelchair Open beating Maximillian Laudan 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
