Women’s singles - Katie Boulter

October saw Katie Boulter find her stride in the Asian swing, with the Brit recording some of her best results in recent months.

The British No.1 secured a first round win against Taylor Townsend at the China Open before pushing Coco Gauff in round two where she eventually bowed out. Boulter also made the second round of the Ningbo Open, which spurred her on to a sensational run in Japan.

The 28-year-old was a dominant force at the WTA 500 event in Japan – beating Priscilla Hon, Kyoka Okamura and Bianca Andreescu in straight sets to reach the semi-final where she eventually fell short to Sofia Kenin in a 6-4, 6-4 defeat.

Despite narrowly missing out on a spot in the Japan Open final, these wins set her up perfectly heading into another successful month in November.
