Tie Break Fund Launches for 2025
• 3 MINUTE READ
The Tennis Wales Tie Break Fund has launched for 2025, investing into projects that transform Welsh communities through tennis and padel and open tennis up. The fund is designed to support innovative projects that drive participation and inclusivity.
This year we are looking for partners, venues and charitable organisations to introduce new, creative initiatives that engage a broader audience in tennis or padel throughout Wales.
The fund has increased this year, building on the success last year where 23 projects were supported, right across the country.
One standout project was the Ummul Mumineen Academy Girls Sports initiative, which empowered 100 BAME girls from Grangetown and Cardiff Bay to develop within the sporting space by providing culturally sensitive coaching, community-led events, and support for equipment and transport. Another successful programme, Tennis Squad’s Speakeasy Club, ran a summer series of adult drop-in sessions free of charge that focused on physical and mental wellbeing.
Grants of up to £6,000 are available for clubs, venues, and non-profit organisations delivering innovative projects that:
- Increase women’s and girls’ participation
- Engage more children through partnerships with voluntary & third-sector groups
- Reduce inequality for key groups, including those with disabilities, ethnically diverse communities, LGBTQ+, or experiencing socio-economic deprivation
We are especially keen to support projects that:
- Use the Welsh language to promote, grow, and deliver tennis
- Involve partnerships between tennis clubs/venues and local community groups or third-sector organisations
Projects across all areas of Wales can apply for funding, however areas of high demand and unmet need areas will also be taken into account when the applications are being selected, these include:
- Blaenau Gwent
- Cardiff
- Ceredigion
- Gwynedd
- Merthyr Tydfil
- Monmouthshire
- Powys
- Torfaen
- Wrexham
Application Deadline
5pm, Monday 18th April 2025
