Tennis Wales has once again demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding by achieving Level 3 accreditation from the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU).
This recognition, awarded following a thorough independent assessment, confirms that Tennis Wales meets the highest safeguarding standards for national governing bodies in Wales.
The CPSU evaluation involved a detailed review of 34 requirements across policies, procedures, and organisational culture. Tennis Wales successfully fulfilled all criteria, highlighting its dedication to creating a safe and supportive environment for young people in sport.
Simon Johnson, CEO of Tennis Wales, expressed his pride in the achievement:
“Safeguarding is a golden thread woven through every aspect of our sport, and we are thrilled to retain the highest level of safeguarding assurance with the NSPCC. This recognition is a testament to the incredible work of our network of welfare officers across tennis and padel venues in Wales. Our Board, team, and committees in North and South Wales all play an active, ongoing role in ensuring that young people can enjoy the game we all love in a safe and protected environment.”
The accreditation reinforces Tennis Wales’s position as a leader in safeguarding within Welsh sports and underscores its unwavering commitment to prioritising the welfare of young people across the nation.
