HEAD unveiled as Tennis Wales’ ball supplier

• 2 MINUTE READ

Tennis Wales and HEAD UK Ltd have announced that HEAD will be the official tennis ball and Padel ball supplier for all Tennis Wales tournaments and training, in an agreement that runs until the end of 2025.

This will include the Welsh National Championships, North and South Wales County Championships, and the Coaches’ Conference.

In addition to the agreement HEAD and Tennis Wales have revealed that the tennis balls will come in newly-designed cans that are better for the environment. The new cans contain less plastic and are far better able to be recycled. Sample testing undertaken together with the Austrian recycling company Saubermacher has shown the potential to save up to 10 times more CO2 than existing ball cans.

Dave Hillier, Racketsports Category Manager at HEAD UK said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Tennis Wales as the official tennis and padel ball.

“As one of the leading tennis ball manufacturers in the world, working with organisations such as Tennis Wales is extremely important to us to allow as many tennis players, coaches and venues as possible to enjoy using HEAD balls at all levels of the sport.

“In addition, the changes we have made to our tennis ball tubes will also have environmental benefits across the tennis landscape in Wales, which is very important to us.”

Mark Lewis, Competitions and Events Manager at Tennis Wales said: “We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with HEAD UK as we continue to open up tennis across Wales. To have them on board as our official ball partner for our national and international competitions as well as new Padel events and coach development delivery for the next three years gives us great pleasure.”
