Elizabeth takes British Tour Title

Elizabeth Evans got 2024 off to a great start when she took the title in the Ladies’ singles at the Lexus LTA British Tour event in Hull.
Fifth seed Elizabeth, 16, from Margam, faced fourth seed Sarah Copley in the final. Elizabeth took the first set 6-2 and was 1-0 up in the second set when her opponent retired hurt. The title success, her first on the British Tour, capped a great few days at the Grade 2 event, where she dropped just one set, in a competitive quarter-final against third seed Liana Sharrat Blanksby.
