Chris Hill attends Parliamentary park tennis event

Chris Hill from Six Bells park tennis courts in Abertillery was one of a number of coaches, volunteers and operators from around the UK who as invited to Parliament to celebrate the transformative impact of the Park Tennis Project.
The Park Tennis Project is a nationwide investment of £30 million by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and LTA Tennis Foundation, delivered by the LTA, to transform thousands park tennis courts across Great Britain, and provide more opportunities for children and adults to be active. The project aims to refurbish 3,000 courts in Britain and to get 500,000 more people playing tennis in parks.
The event, hosted in Parliament by All Party Parliamentary Group for Tennis Chair Toby Perkins MP, was also attended by Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Lucy Frazer MP and provided Members of Parliament with an opportunity to hear about the impact of investment in their constituencies – including Blaenau Gwent MP Nick Smith.
The park courts at Six Bells were officially re-opened in June 2023 after investment of £37,516.70 to refurbish the site.
