In 2021, the new Tennis Wales President’s Award will also recognise special achievements in Welsh tennis. The winner of this category was selected out of all of our incredible nominations by Tennis Wales President Ann Powell. Commenting on judging the awards Ann said:
“I was honoured to be asked to select the recipient of the 2021 President’s Award. This was an extremely difficult task as so many of our nominations were thoroughly deserving of an award. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and I look forward to seeing the announcements of all of our category winners”.
Commenting on the 2021 Tennis Wales Awards, Bethan Lewis, board member at Tennis Wales and awards judging panel member said:
“2020 certainly wasn’t the year we all expected it to be. However, our players, coaches and club members demonstrated sheer determination and creativity in helping others throughout the pandemic. The volume and quality of award entries was incredible to see and I can’t wait for you to read all about our worthy winners and their individual stories.”
This year we are thrilled to announce that we will be working with Equinox Wales to co-ordinate our Awards, nominees or nominators may be contacted directly by a member of their team to obtain further information, visuals or interviews.
Nominees in all categories will be receiving congratulatory prizes throughout Wales during February, with the winners being announced online via social media throughout March. Further details will be available shortly.
Good luck to all of our nominees and thank you for your dedication to tennis in Wales.
