Tennis Scotland Coach Development Apprenticeship Programme

• 2 MINUTE READ

To grow tennis by making it relevant, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable.

Tennis Scotland has revealed that applications are being accepted for an exciting Coach Development Apprenticeship programme which has been tailor-made to nurture the nation’s young generation of coaching talent.

The programme will see an intake of Tennis Development Apprentices mentored through specialised skills training, complemented by invaluable hands-on experience of delivering participation opportunities at national, regional and local level. Designed to pave a path into the sport for youngsters aged 20 and under, the programme has been created to support apprentices by shaping a skillset which will allow them to pursue a career path in one of the many areas offered by the sport. These areas include coaching, competition management and sport development.

Set to bolster the governing body’s growing workforce, the apprentices will join at a landmark period for tennis in Scotland. Interest is heightened surrounding the sport as club memberships sit at an all-time peak. The successful candidates will join Tennis Scotland’s mission of increasing the accessibility of tennis, creating stronger venues, delivering a range of quality events and competitions, and building a world-class player development pathway.
