Tennis Scotland announces changes to prestigious national junior competition
• 2 MINUTE READ
Tennis Scotland is today announcing exciting changes to one of our most prestigious events for young players – the Scottish Junior Nationals.
Evolving from the junior ‘closed’ championships which previously ran as part of the three-week summer ‘Edinburgh swing’, the new-look singles competition will take place on 15 & 16 December
Under this new format, we aim to gather the best Scottish junior players at one ‘masters-style’ event and crown a Scottish National Champion at each age group.
To be immediately followed by the TS Open Tour Finals, the junior event will kick off a compelling four days of Scottish tennis, showcasing the nation’s best and most promising talent across two top-class indoor venues in Oriam at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and Scotstoun Leisure Centre in Glasgow.
The changes come during an exciting time for player development in Scotland, following the launch of our new Scottish National Player Pathway, which has been designed to create more training and competitive opportunities for the most talented and ambitious young players.
Here’s everything you need to know about the event, but if you have any questions please contact competitions@tennisscotland.org
